About Topiti

We're building an AI tutor that grows minds, not screen-time habits.

The idea

I'm Daniel, and I built Topiti because I watched my own kid get hooked on apps that wasted her attention. The streaks, the badges, the auto-play — they kept her coming back, but they didn't make her better at anything.

So I started building the opposite. A tutor that asks before it answers. A tutor that closes the session at a natural stopping point instead of pulling you into another one. A tutor whose only job is to move a curricular objective from "exposed" to "mastered," and to tell you, the parent, exactly when that happened.

Two years later it tests well at home. Today, you get to try it too.

How it's different

vs Khan Academy

Khan Academy is free, and that's a real gift. But most of its K-6 content is English-only, and the experience is a wall of videos with no parent-readable mastery report. Topiti is bilingual ES-MX / EN-US from day one and reports curriculum codes you can verify.

vs Duolingo

Duolingo's streak is a loss-aversion mechanic; it works on engagement, not real fluency. Topiti has zero streaks. Sessions close cleanly with a retrieval prompt, and what gets measured is mastery on a spaced schedule, not consecutive-day count.

vs IXL

IXL Family is $13/mo and runs a per-subject upsell. Topiti is one $4.99/mo subscription that covers reading, math, science, writing, and art for up to 6 children, with no gates between subjects.

What you actually see

Every Friday, one email lands in your inbox. Not minutes spent. Not streaks. The curricular standards your child practiced and which ones they're closing in on. This is a sample — yours will look like this with your child's real activity.

SAMPLE · Friday weekly report
Apr 18 – Apr 25
Sofía
Explored: volcanoes, fractions, the water cycle
2 mastered
3 in practice
5 exposed
  • CCSS.MATH.3.NF.A.1 — Understand a fraction as a quantity formed by parts of a whole.
  • NGSS.3-ESS2-1 — Represent data on weather conditions across a season.
  • SEP.LENG.F4.2.3 — Identifica la idea principal en un texto narrativo.
AT THE DINNER TABLE
Ask Sofía: if you could visit an active volcano, what would you bring?

Sample data. Standards codes are real (CCSS, NGSS, SEP Plan 2022).

What we are not

  • No streaks.
  • No addictive rewards — no loot, no random drops, no level-up theater.
  • No purchases visible to your child. Pricing is parent-only, in the dashboard.
  • No social feed. No leaderboards. No friend requests from strangers.

Who's building this

Daniel Nader is the founder. Topiti is operated by Data Coach SAS (Mexico). Mexican operator, MIT-trained engineer, building Topiti from a desk in Mexico City with his own kid as the toughest QA tester.

Topiti is built by a small team of humans and a transparent set of AI agents — each one with a written role and a documented review trail. We publish what each agent owns and what it doesn't, because we think a tool for kids should be inspectable by the parents who pay for it.
